Put a Ring on It… or at Least Some Earrings: Jewellery for Wedding Guests

Put a Ring on It… or at Least Some Earrings: Jewellery for Wedding Guests

Well, I’ve just returned from a whirlwind weekend at my brother’s wedding, and let me tell you, it was magical. Emotional vows, questionable dance moves, cake I’m still dreaming about… and of course, the outfit, mine that is, although my brother's mid wedding costume change was iconic!

I spent months planning what to wear (any excuse to browse, really), and the jewellery? That was the real cherry on top. As a self-confessed jewellery obsessive (ahem, professional) I can confirm that picking the perfect pieces to wear as a wedding guest is both an art and a joy.

So, whether you’ve got a wedding invite pinned to the fridge, or you’re just dreaming of summer celebrations (and maybe a free glass of fizz or two), here’s my guide to wedding guest jewellery that’ll make you feel as fabulous as the couple looks.

1. Earrings That Dance When You Do

If you’re like me and plan to spend at least part of the evening throwing shapes on the dance floor, then you need earrings with a bit of movement.

I wore our Brigitte Adolph Daphne Pendant earrings and they were perfect—delicate enough not to overshadow, but with just the right amount of swing and sparkle. They catch the light beautifully (especially helpful under disco balls and fairy lights).

Also loving: Long Diamond Drop Earrings by Ruth Tomlinson – elegant, textured, and a little unexpected. Perfect if you’re going for romantic meets modern.

2. Necklaces That Work with Necklines

Your neckline sets the scene, but the necklace steals it. I wore a high neck dress so didn't get the chance to show off my necklace, but my daughter on the other hand was looking for something bold but refined. The Trio Nugget Pendant by Dower & Hall absolutely nailed it; organic, sculptural and just enough to spark compliments (of which she got many!!).

For higher necklines or simpler dresses, a layered look can work wonders. Try mixing textures and lengths—just keep the rest of your accessories paired back so you don’t upstage the bride (or do… just don’t tell her I said that).

3. Rings That Toast Beautifully

Champagne flute in one hand, shimmering ring on the other—that’s the vibe. Wedding guest rings should feel celebratory, not costume-y. Think subtle gems, elegant shapes, and something you’ll want to admire every time you raise a glass.

Our Green/Blue Sapphire & Diamond Stacking Rings by Shimara Carlow are ideal. Stack them, mix them, or let them shine solo.

Or how about something pink? (Perfect for the current floral trending dresses) The Tourmaline and Morganite Ring by Maria Margoni is a dream—cool, serene, and oh-so-chic.

4. The Self-Gifting Reminder

Let’s not forget the real wedding guest rule: you absolutely deserve to treat yourself. You got the outfit, navigated the gift list, wore heels for eight hours - honestly, you deserve a medal, or at the very least a new pair of earrings!

If you’ve got weddings in the diary this year, why not pop into the gallery and let us help you find your perfect accessories? Whether you’re going for floaty and floral or city hall chic, we’ve got jewellery that’ll make you feel incredible, without stealing the show (unless that’s your aim, in which case… go for it).

With love (and slightly sore dancing feet),
