All feather pieces can be made in many different colours to order and can be steamed over a hot kettle to spring back into shape when necessary.
Katie will also gold plate pieces on request to a high standard.
Katie graduated from Middlesex University in 1996. Her work developed from a combination of two influences; a curiosity for diverse craft techniques and the complexity of shape, form and colour found in nature. By combining these two influences using gold, silver, non-precious metals, feathers, plastic and applying them in the form of jewellery, the result is a collection that is bright in colour, intriguing in structure and attractive to wear. She is always surprised that she can stretch such complex pieces of jewellery from simple feathers.
Katie Ckarke has exhibited throughout the UK, Europe and San Francisco as well as appearing in publications such as Harpers & Queen, The Face and Marie Claire.
