The family run business of Niessing was founded in 1873 in the small town of Vreden, on the German, Dutch border. They started by making church artifacts and wedding bands. In 1930 they invented the jointless wedding band and in 1960 developed the easyfit ring. In 1975 the Platinum Guild was founded, and in the same year they branched out into jewellery. Innovation and technical excellence has always been part of Niessing’s identity and in 1977 they developed the combination of platinum with fine gold, and in 1979 this was followed by the creation of their famous tension ring. Neissing’s design ethos, is to focus on one idea, making it simple and contemporary. Their jewellery is made to the highest precision from stainless steel, platinum and gold.
